Sweat with Compass: Full Body Workout 3
Hello everyone, welcome back to the third installment of Sweat with Compass. We hope you enjoyed the workout last month and we are back for another this month. We hope you’re just as excited as we are in this coming video. Sharlynn will be leading us in – strength training. The past two workouts were full-body workouts and we will be moving into strength training this month
For the coming video, we will be sharing what strength training is and why it is good for us. Strength training involves using your own body weight or tools like dumbbells or resistance bands to build your muscle mass, strength, and endurance. Here are some of the benefits of strength training: reduce risk of osteoporosis by developing stronger muscles and bones, control your weight – as you gain muscle, your metabolism rate increases thus enabling your body to burn calories more efficiently and lastly, reduce the risk of injury – stronger muscles are able to support your joints better thus preventing them from injury.
Strength training can be done both at home or in a gym. If you do not have access to equipment or tools, your own body weight is a good tool you can use for strength training and Sharlynn will be here to show us just how we can do that. Happy working out everyone!
