Sous Chef

Job Description:

  • Support and assist the Executive Chef in managing and administering all facets of the kitchen’s operations

  • Support daily business operations

  • Ensure consistent preparation and production of food.

  • Prepare and cook assigned dishes for serving according to the menu

  • Keep kitchen area, processing equipment, and cooking utensils clean and sanitized at all times

  • Process all food according to company’s and government / client regulatory control

  • Ensure safe operations of all equipments, and report any faulty equipment to superior immediately

  • Comply with hygiene and safety regulations (HSE) set by the Company, clients and government

  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the immediate superior

  • Follow up on changes in new recipes or work methods pertaining to menus, daily specials and promotional activities

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to Compass Singapore HSE systems and procedures

  • Follow all Emergency Response plans on-site

  • Follow procedures for identifying, assessing and controlling hazards and risks

  • Adhere to and maintain food handling standards and food safety plan at all times

The Candidate:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate/NITEC

  • At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience in the related field

  • Customer-service oriented personality

  • Proactive, friendly and pleasant characteristics

  • Team player with good communication skills

  • Cheerful and self-motivated with positive working attitude

The Candidate:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate/NITEC

  • At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience in the related field

  • Customer-service oriented personality

  • Proactive, friendly and pleasant characteristics

  • Team player with good communication skills

  • Cheerful and self-motivated with positive working attitude
