Assistant Unit Manager

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the Unit Manager in daily operations of food service at the assigned site (e.g., cafeteria, institutional catering environment)
  • Lead, motivate, and supervise front-line F&B staff to ensure smooth, high-quality service delivery
  • Monitor and maintain staff schedules, attendance, and training records; assist in reporting and documentation as required by management
  • Ensure professional customer service standards are upheld at all times; handle customer and staff feedback or issues promptly and effectively
  • Uphold operational excellence by ensuring compliance with company SOPs and service standards
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to site improvements and special projects
  • Perform operational duties on a rotational basis and any other tasks assigned by the Unit Manager or Management team

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

  • Comply with Compass Group’s health, safety, and security procedures
  • Ensure team adherence to hygiene and personal presentation standards
  • Participate in regular HSE briefings and support site-wide safety initiatives
  • Report all incidents, accidents, and hazards promptly
  • Complete mandatory HSE training as scheduled
  • Enforce compliance with site food safety plan and hygiene procedures

  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Process Work Instructions (PWIs)

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in F&B operations and supervisory roles
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Prior experience in cafeteria or institutional catering environments is essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic administrative tools
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
